This weekend was relaxing but busy so I didn’t get a chance to write about it as individual days and instead am combining them together into one post.
Saturday started out with getting a fruit and veggie box from 5280 Produce. They sell boxes of produce for a good deal and as we were pulling away with this week’s selection I mentioned to the hubby that it may be more than we would spend getting our own based on what’s on sale. And it may not be the quality or selection we would choose if we were able to pick it out ourselves. BUT, it solves the issue of what veg to buy each week and forces us to eat a LOT of fiber. We still have some veggies left from last week we need to finish! But it is also helping us stay in budget for groceries.
Then after spending a couple of hours at the library for my side gig we ate lunch. It is nice to get out and enjoy each others’ company sometimes. Then IKEA. Apparently the word “IKEA” makes hubby grumpy? Learned that this weekend… We did make it out alive with no plans for divorce so that is a plus! Managed to pick up a shelf unit to organize the baby’s closet with, a cart for diapers, and some octopuses to hang baby stuff from! Love the octopuses.
It doesn’t seem to matter how long you’re in IKEA, it just wears you down! So afterwards it was an easy evening and early to bed. Sunday I started by doing a load of baby laundry. Items that my sister passed on to us for the little one. The new washer did not disappoint. But now I have a glimpse into the amount of laundry we will have… and that’s not including diapers… pretty sure our kid will just be in a diaper and naked until they start kindergarten. That’s what I’ve decided.
The weather was absolutely beautiful this weekend though with the sun shining and temperatures reaching 70’s. Sunshine and I walked with the stroller to the store while hubby drove over (so I didn’t have to walk back) and look for a cord clamp for the new dryer. Doggy loved the walk and I was glad to get out and exercise without any issues. Feels good to move again.
I also grilled. A. Lot. Our beautiful four burner grill was FILLED and I had to grill in shifts. We did potato foil packets, hamburgers, asparagus, grilled fries, grilled bell peppers, and… think that’s about it. All of it turned out delicious! (Well, I haven’t tried the foil packets yet… but I assume they’ll be good too)
After all the shopping, laundry, and grilling it was time to put my feet up while hubby assembled the new shelf for the baby’s room. Then bath time and bedtime.
Overall it was a good weekend. Hubby was cranky but the weather was BEAUTIFUL. It was nice to get out. It feels good to be getting a start on the baby’s room and finally able to do laundry again!
